It creeps around quicker and quicker every year!

This Christmas it would be great fun to makes some Christmas themed gifts and decorations. So, I have been on ravelry and compiled a little list of free projects that might help spark come creativity and ideas this festive season.

Gift Bags

Gift bags are a great way to add a personal touch to a gift that you already have, or have in mind, for your family, friends and loved ones.

Knitted

This basic sock pattern from Winwick Mum is great as a little Christmas sock for small gifts like a chocolate, a scratchie or a little trinket. As a bonus can double as a Christmas decoration for the recipients tree for futures years.

This Santa gift bag is adorable and looks to be a quick knit using 10 ply yarn held together for a chunky sturdy gift bag/basket. What a fun way to give a gift!

Crochet

This Christmas tree gift bag uses 4 ply yarn and is aprox 21cm when complete.

Or check out these chunkier crochet bag pattern offering 3 sizes and 3 design variations.

Decorations, Décor and Fun

Why not add some Christmas cheer to your own home, or give a simple gift of a decoration that can be used year after year?

These absolutely delightful mini sock ornaments are a great way to add your love of knitting to your Christmas tree. And things in mini are so cute, who wouldn’t want one, or a few, on their Christmas tree! I made one using the Fibre of My Being Mending Minis, they are perfect for making these tiny socks!

Paper crowns go hand in hand with Christmas lunches and dinner. These knitted crowns are a quick simple knit and will likely be a better fit, more stylish and last for many years, Definitely a win over the traditional paper ones. Making your own fun bonbons with these crowns inside (maybe add the little knitted sock ornaments, too) would make a wonderful personal touch to go with all the feasting!

Christmas tree coasters are a great way to decorate you table for your Christmas meal. Check out some knitted ones here and some crochet ones here.

I hope this complication of Christmas themed makes has sparked some ideas to make your Christmas fibre crafty :)
