Lasting Joy for a Finished Project

It is so satisfying to complete a project. At the beginning of spring, I wrote about my intentions for spring knits - one for myself and one for my little girl (you can check out that post here).

A lot has happed since then, and as it turns out, I only managed to get one of these projects completed, largely due to circumstances out of my control. In saying that, I am delighted to say that I still got the little cotton dress for my toddler completed.

That sense of satisfaction from a finished project lingers long after the last stitch is completed. In fact, it brings joy every time my little one wears her cute purple dress – a least once a week which is wonderful! To make it even better, she will likely fit into it for some time to come, and can be adapted to be worn throughout autumn and winter with some layering for added warmth.

This is one of the beautiful things about fibre crafts. The joy isn’t just in creating and making, but extends to those moments when our handmade pieces are used, worn, and loved. These precious pieces become part of our daily lives, providing both meaning and joy.

Loved this project? Why not make one too? This is what I used:

Have you made something that continues to bring you happiness long after it was finished. I’d love to hear about your favourite and most used handmade projects!
